2 cups plain flour
2 cups powdered sugar
1 egg yolk
3 tablespoons green tea powder
1 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla or almond extract (optional)
Preheat oven to 170 deg.
In a bowl, sift sugar and flour together. Add green tea. Slowly, using a fork or a rubber spatula add egg yolk, extract and butter until combined. If it’s very soft you may refrigerate it for 20 minutes to firm it up before cutting out shapes. Place cut out cookies on the lined cookie tray and bake until slightly browned on the edges.
I made this cookies for my amazing big tank of a friend who got me green tea kit kat from Japan:) I melted some white chocolate and made little decorations but the cookies look so cute plain:) you can sprinkle some granulated sugar on top if you wish.
yeah I kind of came up with this recipe on my own- the other recipes made large heavy chocolate chip kind of cookies while this recipe has the texture of shortbread.
Happy Friday bunnies:)
